16,000 applicants battle for 350 Amotekun jobs in Ondo

Report indicates that No fewer than 16,000 applicants are jostling for the 350 vacant slots of the Ondo State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun Corps; SUNSHINETRUTH can reveal.

To this effect, the Corps 900 shortlisted 900 candidates during yesterday’s screening exercise.

It will be recalled that the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in May directed the recruitment of additional 350 personnel into the State Amotekun Corps to further strengthen and boost its operations.

The State Commander of the Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, in an interview during the exercise, said that successful applicants for the Amotekun Corps job will be invited for training soonest.

The Commander pointed out that majority of the applicants were screened out on age grounds, physical fitness and experience

He urged them to resume camp within the stipulated period, warning that there would be no further registration in 2022.

He said only successful candidates whose names appear on the Corps website are to resume at the training camp.

Adeleye advised applicants to visit the Corps’ website for further details. He said the screening panel adhered strictly to the requirements needed in the course of the short-listing exercise.

Adeleye said the exercise was transparent with personnel from the Amotekun agency and certified security experts involved in the process.

He said with the recruitment of the new Amotekun Corps, the spate of insecurity will be reduced to the barest minimum, urging criminal-minded elements to steer clear of Ondo state or face their waterloo.

Adeleye said the Corps’ recruits will be posted to strategic places across the state to work in collaboration with conventional security agencies.

He lauded Governor Akeredolu for his commitment towards the provision of necessary logistics and moral support to ensure the effective take-off of the security networks.
