40th Anniversary: Alumni make donation to CAC Grammar School, Akure

…… DONATES TOILET FACILITY TO STUDENTS, TEACHERS

As part of the activities lined up to celebrate their 40th anniversary of graduation from school, the old students of CAC grammar school, Akure, 1982 set today presented a 10 rooms toilet facility for both staff and students of the school as a way to giving back to the school.

Speaking, the president of association, Barr Abayomi Ojo, who was represented by Mr Henry Ige Olasehinde said that what prompted the donation of the toilet is out of love and passion for the school and also, to make sure that things go on well with the school because there were happy with the situation of the school when they visited it sometimes ago, especially the way the students go to the bush to deficate which is very dangerous for them.

“We will continue to partner with the school because we believe we are stakeholders too, this is where we hail from and we will continue to reach out to them from time to time as the need comes”.

“The children are happy because many of them they do visit the hospital in a repeated form, they know that once this is commissioned, the issue of having challenge will be reduced,” the President said

He advised both the staff and students to maintain the toilet, as it is one the attain, it is another thing to maintain. “Anything that lacks maintenance will go off with time and I want them to use it for long, so they should try to maintain it”.

The Secretary to the association, Mrs Toyin Ogunbe said their donation is a glorious achievement as there was no toilet in the school. She stressed that more projects are still coming up but they are looking at the area to come in again.

In her reaction, the principal of the school, Mrs Mercy Oluwapelumi Adetimehin appreciated the association’s members, saying that she couldn’t hide her joy as not having a toilet is now a thing of the past. “It is a laudable achievement and i want to commend the 1982 set, their torch has lighten the path of the school”.

Mrs Adetimehin implored the students to make use of the facility properly, be a good ambassador of the school, avoid vandalism.

The PTA Chairman, Pastor Adebowale Adegbite while expressing his happiness and gratitude to the members noted that it is necessary for a school to have a toilet. He also advised the students to take care of the toilet, always keep it tidy to avoid contacting infections.

The staff and the students who were excited also appreciated the members for their good gesture, saying that the toilet will put an end to them going to the bush to deficate, they also promised to use the facility well and maintain it properly.
