Ifira Akoko people protest against imposition of new monarch

IFIRA REJECT THE IMPOSITION OF AN OWO PERSON AS THE OBA OF IFIRA AKOKO.

The entire people of lfira in Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo State have rejected the alleged plan to impose an unknown person on the community as the new traditional ruler of Ifira Akoko by some people in Government.

They claimed to be carrying out the order from the government.

According to the people of the ancient town, “We are aware that our Governor has not involved in the selection of any Oba in the State, but some people in his government are out to tarnish his good reputation by scheming to impose an Owo person on the people of Ifira as the Oba of the town.”

They said, “This move is not only a negation of our traditional values and cultural heritage, it is a taboo to our ancestral home. And the repercussions would be uninmaginable.”

The people of the town said, they rejected this profane move by Ondo State Government and appeal to them as well to adjure unto his people to stop unsacred attempt to impose unknown person as the traditional head (Oba of Ifira Akoko) of the entire community.

They appealed to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to intervene urgently to avoid crisis in the area.
