….. AIYEDATIWA TASKS AKOTOGBO COMMUNITY ON THE NEED FOR A NEW OBA
**”As Community Thanks ODSG On Elevation of ‘Larogbo’ to Grade A Oba.
Ondo State Acting Governor/Deputy Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa has called on the kingmakers and community leaders in Akotogbo to see to the emergence of a new Oba for the community.
The Acting Governor threw this challenge when the Regent of Akotogbo, High Chief Emoruwa Iwalewa led other community leaders and prominent sons of the community on a ‘Thank You’ visit to Governor’s Office, Akure on the elevation of “Larogbo of Akotogbo” to grade A status on Monday.
Akotogbo is one of the ancient communities in Irele Local Government, with a vacant stool in the last 15 years .
“As a government, we will provide enabling environment and give guidance on the process of selection, but the actual selection will be done by the kingmakers” , declared Aiyedatiwa.
He equally assured the community that, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration is committed to bequeathing Akotogbo community and other towns and Communities in the State with proper security system.
Adding that, Ondo State is committed on the ongoing synergy among security agencies in the State and encourage the spirit of security agencies-community partnership as a strategy towards addressing crimes in the State.
On their part, the spoke person of the delegation, Dr Olagbayi Akinsulire said, “as a community, we are very happy and thankful on the elevation of our vacant stool, ‘Larogbo of Akotogbo’ to grade A status” .
“We are very hopeful that, filling the vacant stool will be crisis free, and where there’s peace, there will be development” , he said.
Others at the event are, Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, Press Secretary to Governor, Office of Deputy Governor, Ladi Okunniga, Special Assistant to Governor on New Media and Hon Afolabi Iwalewa, former member of Ondo State House of Assembly representing Irele Constituency.
