Mrs Akeredolu empowers Ondo Women, as Amotekun Boss hails First Lady

In continuation of Foundation For Wives Of Ondo State Offficials (FOWOSO) 4th summit, Ondo State First Lady, Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu empowers women across Ondo State with sewing machines, generating sets, hair dryer and grinding machines.

In her welcome address, Mrs Akeredolu congratulated all the beneficiaries of the empowerment, urging them to make judicious use of the materials given to them.

The First Lady added that “we all have a role to play in ensuring our safety in the country, stressing that FOWOSO promotes women.”

She encouraged everyone to key into FOWOSO program.

The Corps Commander of Amotekun and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, who chaired the occasion, congratulated Mrs Akeredolu for building a legacy to be proud of.

The Commander added that the First Lady has been a pillar of support for women in the state and has also built girls through her “BEMORE” program.

He stressed that FOWOSO has brought opportunities to women and  girl child.

Speaking on 2023 election, Adeleye noted that anyone who causes violence before, during and after the elections will face the full weight of the law, as the security agency will leave no stone unturned to deal with criminal elements.

In her own goodwill message, the first lady of Lagos State, Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu expressed her gratitude to Mrs Akeredolu for always supporting women of Ondo State. She added that the theme of the 4th is very timely.

Mrs Sanwo-Olu who was represented by Mrs Bukola Akosile stressed that FOWOSO initiative is focused on empowering women and must be sustained. She urged the participants to avail themselves anywhere they can enhance their knowledge.

Mrs Biola Ogundele, wife of the Ondo State Head of Service in her goodwill message, appreciated Mrs Akeredolu, described her as an example of courage as she has given women a voice.

Mrs Ogundele encouraged women not to relegate themselves to the background and always stand for what is right as they are the mirror for the upcoming generations.

The empowerment also featured couple dressing competition, cultural display, old people dance, match parade by women across the 18 local government of Ondo State and women from different associations and was witnessed by traditional rulers, commissioners, special adivsers to Ondo State Governor, among others.
