Over the few weeks that the All Progressives Congress(APC) candidate in the Ondo State House Assembly election for Ondo West constituency 1, Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju(OMO), has been on a unit-to-unit campaign jaunt before the party in the State halted all campaigns because of the excruciating pain occasioned by the lingering fuel and inaccessibility to the new naira notes crises as a result of the wrong timing of the CBN policy.
In a statement, OMO Media team said, “The constituents of Ondo west constituency 1 have been bemoaning the poor representation of the outgoing lawmaker, over his nonperformance and nonchalant attitude towards the things that matter to their Wards has promised to facilitate when he was campaigning in 2019.
“Recently, Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju(OMO), visited the people of the Akinjagunla area under Ward 7, where the people registered their displeasure in Hon. Tomide Akinribido’s ineffective and lacklustre representation, that the area since 2019 has had no constituency project nor anybody from the area despite the massive votes for him benefited from his legislative representation and his claimed empowerment programmes he is parading in the social media.
“In his response, Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju(OMO), sympathized with the people and told them that the best way to end their neglect since 2019, lack of constituency projects and failed campaign manifesto is to vote out Hon. Tomide Akinribido in the March 11 election because he has brought a deceitful representation to them.
“Recalled that during the PDP presidential rally in Kano, the national chairman of the party, Senator Iyorcha Ayu alluded that their party and those elected on the platform and also seeking re-election have failed their people and do not deserve to be returned to power in 2023, which doesn’t exempt Hon. Tomide Akinribido in this election.
“PDP has brought us shame and we’ll not return them to power”. – he said
“The statement of the national chairman of the party has again substantiated the media campaign team of Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju(OMO) that the three and a half years of Hon. Tomide Akinribido has brought shame, treachery, and shirk and in which the only way to salvage this colossal failure representation is for the constitutes to use their massive votes to elect OMO in the March 11 election and end the legislative representation of lies and lack of robust engagement with the Executive, which has denied the constituents laudable projects.
“It is irrefutable that OMO is the most acceptable candidate among those seeking votes to represent the good of Ondo West constituency 1, in the Ondo state house of assembly, based on his vast political exposure to politics within and outside Ondo state.
“The PDP national chairman has affirmed it, and the electorates will not return Hon. Tomide Akinribido to the State House of Assembly, after his enormous recorded failure that is egregious.
“Hon. Tomide is now fidgeting and gasping for gas, having known that his defeat is ineluctable and to further make the defeat easy for our candidate, he created a parody account on WhatsApp which he is using to attack our candidate in a campaign of verbal war and personal abuse which is clearly against the provision of the Electoral Act, 2022 as amended,” said OMO Campaign Media Office issued on February 13, 2023.
