Super Six: Our future in our hands –Sunshine Stars coach

As hostility continues at the ongoing Nigeria Premier League Super six in Lagos, Sunshine Stars Coach, Edith Agoye has revealed that his team’s destiny is solemnly in their hands.

Agoye said winning their next game against Remo Stars will mark their bouncing back to reckoning in the Super six.

He stated this after Sunshine Stars shared a spoils with Bendel Insurance in their second match of the competition.

The former Shooting Stars gaffer disclosed that they still have three more games to play, saying the two teams topping the table have four points, three points more than us.

He said: If we win again then we cover up for loss in our first match, it was a painful loss for us in our first match against Rivers United.

“Our first loss geared up the players to make up their minds they wanted to win the match against Bendel Insurance, we aim to take three points at stake ,but you know we played a very strong team that is well coached, so picking a point against them is better than nothing.”

The tactical changes we made in the first half of the encounter against the Edo State sponsored side turned the tide of the game in our favour which led to the equaliser.

Divine Nwachukwu had gave the league unbeaten side the lead in the 9th minute of the tie. Before Sunshine Stars lanky defender Ekerette Udom equalised for the Akure Landlords to mark his 4th goal of the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) in the 62nd minute.

The result put Sunshine Stars on the 5th on the log with a point from two matches.

Their next match is a derby against Remo stars today.
