Sustaining our Democracy must be a collective efforts —Ondo APC Stalwart Engr Bally

24 YEARS OF SEAMLESS DEMOCRACY: Sustaining Our Democratic System Of Government Is A Collective Responsibility – Engr. Bally

An APC stalwart in Ondo state and APC PCC Secretary for Ondo Central senatorial District in the 2023 election, Engr. Ayotunde Bally joins the millions of Nigerians both within and outside the shores of the country, to commemorate the 24 years of our seamless democratic system of government, since the advent of the Fourth Republic in 1999.

Engr. Bally in his democracy day message to Nigerians extols the resilience of the citizens of Nigeria, the political doggedness and tenacity of our leaders, and the cooperation of the military by not interfering with our democracy since 24 years ago, as a way of upheaval we have witnessed in some African countries around us in overthrowing the civilian government.

“It is an irrefutable fact that our democracy is yet to meet the yelling and aspirations of the citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria exactly 24 years of military uninterrupted in the process of a democratic system of government, but my fellow citizens will agree with me that this democracy has availed us ample opportunity to show demonstrate some level of participation in the administration of the country, especially in choosing who becomes our leaders through democratic process unlike military regime when leaders are imposed without any constitutional rights to question the process”

“In moving forward in the journey of our democracy, we must not forget the struggle of June 12, 1993, for a better and hopeful Nigeria; and note that it is our collective responsibility to build a sustainable and egalitarian democratic system of government that will truly deliver the real dividend of democracy to the citizens, where our leaders will always be accountable for every action in government, see reasons to invariably put the interest of the citizens above selfish interests and abide by the oaths of office taken; and where electorates will place competency and track records above religious bigotry and ethnicity profiling, in electing their leaders to further bolstered the democracy our forefathers fought for”

“Ostensibly, the 2023 general elections have substantiated to us that our democracy has come to stay and both the government and the governed must that the sanctity of this democracy is conserved against any form of external or internal aggression. Our judiciary administration system must as well be merely independent and consolidated against the executive and legislature interference in administering justices without fear or favour; as this is the fundamental bedrock of democracy across the world”

” It is now crystal clear that for our democracy to thrive on an upward progressive trajectory in Nigeria, we must begin to see the Nigerian youths as the agents of nation-building; there is exigency of demand to create a conducive political environment for active participation of our youths in politics, to be part of the decision-making process in government at all levels. The emergence of young Nigerians in the 2023 elections, from Kwara to Yobe, from Oyo to Osun, Ekiti and other states into the state legislative arm of government has demonstrated to us that our democracy is no more a clandestine activity to our youths. Youths must take centre stage in our democratic system”. – Engr. Ayotunde Bally.

Engr. Bally enjoins Nigerians to support the federal government of the day under President Bola Tinubu, GCFR in repositioning the country on the right aisle in the actualization of the renewed hope and to the good people of Ondo State, to support the government of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON in his REDEEM agenda for better and prosperous Sunshine state.

Engr. Bally prayers for a quick recovery of Governor Akeredolu.

Engr. Ayotunde Bally wishes Nigerians a happy democracy day celebration.
