Sunshine Queens FC trade tackles with Kazeem Eletu FC in NWFL championship playoffs

Sunshine Queens FC of Akure will trade tackles with Prince Kazeem Eletu FC in the opening group B match of the 2023 Nigeria Women Football League Championship playoffs.

Both Sunshine Queens and Pelican FC who relegated last season were seeded in group A and B.

While Group A top seed Pelican FC will also trade tackles with Dream Stars FC.

The opening match of Group A and B will be decided simultaneously at FC Ebeide Stadium,Sagamu and Remo stars Stadium by 9am on Saturday respectively.

Moje Queens FC will also go head to head against Ekiti Queens FC in the remaining two matches in group A and Kwara Ladies FC trade tackles with Dannas Ladies FC at Remo stars Stadium.

Other two games of the matchday one in group B will see Delta Babes FC slug it out against Honey Badgers FC, while Imo Strikers Queens FC take on Lake side Queens FC at FC Ebeide Stadium.

When Sporting Hope visited the camp of Sunshine Queens at Ijebu-Ode the players expressed the readiness to return the team to the elite league.

The captain of the team Taiwo Ajibade assured the team’s fans that Sunshine Queens will pick the only available promotion ticket in group B.

She said ,I believe in my playmates that we can do it. I’m 100 percent sure that we will do it, we are ready to return to Nigeria Women Football League with all determination.

The championship will kick off tomorrow, Saturday 8, and ends on Friday 14, 2023.
