EKSG celebrates Ekiti Queens feat at NWFL Championship

The management, players and officials of Ekiti Queens F.C were hosted to a reception by the wife of the Governor of Ekiti State, Her Excellency, Dr (Mrs) Olayemi Oyebanji.

‘The BAORESS BABES’ came second in Group A at the just concluded NWFL-Championship and were hosted by the wife of the Governor in her office.

At the reception, Dr (Mrs) Olayemi Oyebanji commended the resilience and doggedness of the players for defying the odds and placed themselves on the world map. She assured the team of government’s support ahead of next football league season. The BAO administration recently increased the club’s subvention by 100% and the players and the officers were paid 100% increment of salary before the start of the NWFL-Championship.

The wife of the governor also promised the team that the much-awaited team bus will be delivered before the start of the new football league season. Her Excellency also gave the assurance while addressing the players and officials in her office. “She said the players and officials deserve an improved welfare package because they had worked for it. She further said the government led by her husband would ensure fulfillment of all promises to the team.”

The Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Youth and Sports Dev., Barr. Arowosola Bamidele commended the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Mr Oyebanji Abayomi and his wife, Her Excellency, Dr (Mrs) Olayemi Oyebanji for the wonderful gesture to the players, staff and management of the Ekiti Queens Football Club as it will help boost the morale of the team ahead of the next football season.

The team’s manager, Coach Adekanye Mojisola and the club captain Miss Fayoke Akinola, thanked the state government for continued moral and financial support to the entire team.

In addition, Ekiti Queens FC are still very much optimistic that the team will play NWFL-Premiership next season as we await for the good news from the league body.
