……Seek God’s face for Akeredolu timely recuperation

Traditional Rulers in Ondo state under the auspices of 130 crown obas have converged on Akure, the Ondo state capital to offer special prayers for ailing Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, noting that their subjects have been warned against speaking bad of the governor.

The monarchs who prayed in Christian, Muslim and traditional ways asked God to restore the governor’s health.

They sought God’s face for quick recuperation of the Governor.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the prayers sessions, the President of the 130 crown Obas, Oba Samuel Adeoye, said the royal fathers decided to embark on the prayers because the governor deserves to be healthy considering his performance in governance.

Oba Adeoye who is also the Molokun of Atijere Kingdom in Ilaje local government area, said “the purpose of today’s meeting is to organize a special prayer for our Governor, because we are all aware that our Governor has Health challenges.

The Royal father said, “we as traditional rulers believe that there’s a need for us to organize this special prayer, we can jointly pray for our Governor for quick recovery, so that he can join us as soon as possible.

“Our Governor is a good person and he had done numerous work for us, since he had health issues in months ago, we are not happy, we feel it is necessary as Kings to pray for him, so that God would Grant him quick peace,” he said.

Oba Adeboye however described as unfortunate and disheartening that some individuals were playing politics with the health of the governor.

“We as Kings in our Kingdoms, we had orientated our people that anyone can get sick, we all have one challenge or the other in our body, it is bad for someone to sick and people are making jest of him, it’s a bad Idea for people speaking on the Governor health issues like that, we had told our followers to stop the habit, the sickness should not be the talk of the Town.”

During the prayers

Also speaking, the Olupe of Ipe- Akoko, Oba (Evangelist) Francis Apata expressed hope that governor Akeredolu would return to the state safe and sound.

Oba Apata urged political office holders left behind by governor Akeredolu to discharge their duties in good conscience and fear of God so that the vacuum created by the governor’s absence would not be felt.

“Today is our Statutory meeting day, we had decided to pray for our Governor for Quick recovery, so that he can recover from the sickness, several bodies have been praying for his quick recovery, the council of the Obas in Ondo State has also pray for his recovery.

“We believe as a constituted body, there is need for us to pray for his quick recovery and that is why we decided today to pray for his quick recovery, it is our believe, because the Bible is clear about it that if anyone of you is sick, the elders should gather together and pray for such a person, the prayers of the righteous is always heard in heaven, we believe that our prayers today would do lot of influence in the life of Governor,” the monarch said.
