Oka Akoko honours Akogun Omole, Boroffice, other prominent sons

The immediate past Lawmaker representing Akoko South West 1 in the Ondo State House of Assembly Akogun Olugbenga Omole was on Saturday honoured by his Community as the Pillar of Sports and Youth Development.

Presenting the award to Omole at this year Oka Day Festival the Olubaka of Oka Oba Dr Yusuf Adebori Adeleye,OON describes Omole as one of the illustrious son of the town in whom they are well pleased.
Oba Adeleye stated that the awardees contributions to Youth Development, Empowerment and Development is second to none particularly in the area of Sports.

In his words “Akogun Omole has etched the name of the town on the Global map by bringing renowned Ex-Internationals to Oka on yearly basis thereby making the youths to tap from the wealth of experience possessed by these stars and the efforts is already yielding results.

“His Annual Football Competition has lifted some of our Youths out of poverty and opened the door of a flourishing career for them.

The monarch enjoined other well meaning indegenes of the town to take a cue from what the Ex-Lawmaker is doing and contribute their quotas to the development of the the Town.

Responding to journalists after receiving the award Omole who was visibly elated and full of appreciation to the Monarch and the selection committee for counting him worthy for the prestigious award dedicated the award to the Almighty God Who has been my mainstay and the entire Youths of Oka.

“This will spur me to do more and I will not relent in my efforts to see to the betterment of our People.”

Other Awardees at the Annual Festival were Senator Ajayi Boroffice,General Jones Arogbofa,His Eminence Most Rev.(Dr)Jude Arogundade,the Bishop of Ondo Catholic Diocese and Dr Segun Ategbole who all got Okarufe Golden Merit Award.
