World Athletics Championship: Jamaica’s Williams dethrones Amusan in 100m hurdles

By Femi Atolagbe

Jamaica’s Danielle Williams has dethroned defending champions, Tobi Amusan of the 100m hurdles at Budapest.

The defending champion Tobi Amusan of Nigeria and 2019 winner Nia Ali were never in the hunt, finishing sixth and last respectively.

The 30-year-old, who previously won in Beijing in 2015, timed 12.43 seconds to edge out Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico (12.44sec) with Kendra Harrison of the United States taking bronze (12.46).

All the glory goes to Jamaica

Eight years after her first World Athletics Championship 100m hurdles gold, Danielle Williams returns to the top of the podium with 12.43.
