Chairman of Ondo State Football Association, Otunba Dele Ajayi has charged Sports Writers of the state chapter to put the interest of the state first in the discharge of their duties.
Ajayi stated this while receiving members and new Executive of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ondo State chapter, in Akure.
He said Sports Writers should use their journalistic strength to develop and engender grassroots football development in the state.
The NFF board member revealed that there were times that he and his team made several sacrifices for the growth of the round leather game.
He said: “Always put this state first,this state is number one.
Development of football should be collective effort,” he said.
The state FA chairman assured that the already existing relationship with the members of the association in the state would be sustained to further enhance the development of the sport.
Ajayi also used the opportunity to solicit more supports for Sunshine Stars and Sunshine Queens as the new football season beckons.
Earlier the chairman of SWAN in the state,Mr Segun Giwa said sports writers in the state will sustain the existing healthy relationship with all stakeholders for growth of football and other sports.
