7th NYG: OSSC GM expresses optimism on good outing

The General Manager of Ondo State Sports Council, Mr Henry Babatunde has expressed optimism that the state contingent to the ongoing 7th National Youth Games (NYG)in Delta state will do well as Austin Adelanke and Ojo Funmilayo defeated Osun in table tennis mixed doubles to qualify for quarter final.

He thanked God Almighty for the safe trip to the Big heart of the nation, describing the atmosphere at the host state, Asaba as cool and friendly.

Babatunde in a chat with Sporting Hope disclosed that the screening exercise for the athletes was successful, saying Ondo State is on the best states that parading youngest athletes at the national youth games.

He added that only two out of the team Ondo athletes are yet to be cleared to participate, adding that he hopeful they will be cleared.

“All there documents are correct and are with us, we have no fear in our minds that they won’t be allowed to participate.”

Meanwhile Ondo State is still in search of first medal as the event enters day two.
