NASRDA DG, Halilu Shaba sets to deliver Ulefunta Annual Lecture in Akure

NASRDA BOSS, HALILU SHABA TO SPEAK ON CLIMATE CHANGE AT ULEFUNTA ANNUAL LECTURE

A renowned Space Scientist and Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Halilu Ahmad Shaba will be honouring an invitation by the Akure Monarch in Ondo State His Imperial Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure Kingdom as guest speaker at a special public lecture in commemoration of the annual Ulefunta festival by the people of Akure Kingdom.

In a statement by the Director, Media and Corporate Communication of NASRDA, Dr. Felix Ale, the distinguished Scholar and World Class Scientist will be speaking on: CLIMATE CHANGE AND FOOD SECURITY IN NIGERIA: ROLES OF COMMUNITIES IN GLOBAL MITIGATION AND ADAPTATION MEASURES.

Dr. Shaba on arrival in Akure will pay a royal homage to the Deji of Akure in his Palace as well as the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA).

The historic event which will hold at the Obafemi Awolowo Auditorium of the Federal University of Technology, Akure on Thursday 12th October, 2023 at 10.00am will focus on the pressing issues of climate change which is today a major concern across the globe.

The Director General, will be accompanied by top management staff of the Space Agency including the Director Strategic Space Application, Dr. Mathew Adepoju, the Director Media and Corporate Communications, Dr. Felix Ale, the Director Advanced Aerospace Engines Laboratory Dr. Nelson Ibigbami among others.

The annual Ulefunta Festival serves as an opportunity for reflection, education, interaction and celebration within the Akure Kingdom, the capital city of Ondo State.
