Vote of Confidence: Stop Playing Politics with Akeredolu’s Health —Ologbese tells Exco Members

A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Otunba Dele Ologbese, has described the vote of confidence passed on Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu by 33 out of 35 members of Ondo State Executive Council as laughable, rascality and politics taken too far.

He admonished the executive members to stop playing politics with the health of their Governor, saying the vote of confidence passed was a naked dance in the market square by the selfish individuals involved.

“Do they have power to pass a vote of no confidence on their employer?. If no, then their macabre dance was a waste of time, child play, and uncalled for”

Ologbese in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Akure said it was unethical for the Council’s members to be pursuing trivialities rather than concentrating on good governance which had eluded the State since Mr Governor became ill.

The Coordinator of Advocacy for Good Governance said it sounds illogical for the Council’s members to engage in frivolities rather than seeking credible means of addressing lingering political tensions and uncertainty in the state.

In his words, the Public Communicator said, “It’s rascality of the highest order for the Ondo State Executive Council’s members going a ridiculous way of passing vote of confidence on ailing Governor whom we all knew isn’t fully fit to administer the State.

“I believe if some members of State Executive Council including his immidiate family members particularly his wife, Betty Anyanwu- Akeredolu and son, Babajide truly loved Mr Akeredolu they should have concentrated utmost attention on his recovery rather than these political shenanigans.

“The current actions of Executive Council’s members had portrayed them as self-seeking and incorrigible puppets who lacked proper directions in governance and being used by unscrupulous political actors in foisiting a crony as Governor in the next governorship election through the back door.

“It’s to the knowledge of all over two months ago that Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu returned to the country from his medical trip in Germany, no EXCO Council’s meeting was convened nor did our Governor attended any National Economic Council’s meeting in Abuja. He has not addressed the good people of Ondo State either on radio nor television as protocol demands, which gives a strong impression that he’s not fully well to administer the state.

“The idea of Mr Governor administering the state by proxy from his Ibadan home isn’t only an aberration but a wrong signal to the entire world that all isn’t well with Ondo State.

“I therefore enjoin Executive Council’s members to stop trading in trivialities and should concentrate their attention on making the State governable and sustainable.”
