Akeredolu: Collosal Loss To Ondo State, Yorubaland — Osi Monarch, Oba Olajide


A Traditional ruler in Akure North local government area of Ondo State, the Iresi of Osi Kingdom, HRM Oba David Olajide Okunato, has described the death of Arakunrin  Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, CON, as a collosal loss to the people of Ondo State and Yorubaland.

In a Press Statement, the Monarch said Akeredolu as the Ondo State Governor and Chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum, dedicated his life to champion the cause of the region especially the formation and operations of Amotekun Security Network.

Oba Olajide notes that the late Governor would not be forgotten for making indelible marks in infrastructural development and reformation of traditional institution. 

The Monarch said Akeredolu will also be solely missed for his boldness, courage and fearless approach to national issues that affected the masses.

“Arakunrun Akeredolu will be remembered as a leader who stood and defended Yorubaland when the peace and safety of the people in the region was constantly threatened by killer herdsmen. He led the formation of Amotekun Corps and the Southwest zone is today one of the most peaceful regions in the country.”

“The people and Chiefs of Osi Kingdom will not forget fine legacies and giant strides which the late Governor will be remembered for. We pray God to give his immediate family, the people and Government of Ondo State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. We ask God to also repose his soul,” Oba Olajide prayed.
