Ondo MHWUN lauds Aiyedatiwa as Ondo Govt begins payment of Health workers’ Hazard Allowance

The Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Ondo State Chapter has applauded the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for ordering the  implementation and immediate payment of 100 percent Hazard allowance to its members and other health personnel on the payroll of the state government.

The Ondo State Government had last year released the circular to effect the payment of 100 percent hazard allowance to health workers and medical Doctors under the state government’s payroll. The payment of the allowance will take effect from 2nd October, 2023, but it was not implemented until Governor Aiyedatiwa recently ordered immediate payment and two months of the hazard allowance were paid during the week.

However reacting, MHWUN leadership said the earlier approval and latest payment of two months of the hazard allowance are clear indication that Governor Aiyedatiwa is a reliable and committed leader who keeps his promise.

In a press statement signed by the MWHUN State Chairman, Comrade Segun Ajiboye, the Union notes that the commencement of the hazard allowance payment would go along way in reducing financial challenge of its members amidst economic hardship.

MHWUN Chairman, affirmed the continuous commitment of health and medical workers to duties after the government’s gesture, while the payment of the allowance has again shown clearly that Hon. Aiyedatiwa is a workers’ friendly Governor and committed to the welfare of medical personnel in the state.

Comrade Ajiboye who also lauded the ongoing recruitment of new health workers by the state government, urged it to speed up the process to further boost healthcare delivery in the state.
