Ondo guber poll: APC, PDP rake in N905m from sale of forms |

• Sell forms for N50m, N34m• 13 males, one female seek APC’s ticket• PDP disqualifies two aspirants With the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) a few weeks away ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State, both parties have raked in no fewer than N905 million from the sale of expressions of interest and nomination forms. No fewer than 13 aspirants, under the platform of the APC, obtained the N50 million forms, while a female aspirant purchased the forms for N10 million in line with the policy of the party. The aspirants included Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Wale Akinterinwa, Gbenga Edema, Olamide Ohunyeye, Olusola Oke, Isaacs Kekemeke, Dayo Faduyile, Jimoh Ibrahim, Funmilayo Adekojo (female), Diran Iyantan, Morayo Lebi, Soji Ehinlanwo, Mayowa Akinfolarin and Jimi Odimayo. Following the development, APC generated nothing less than N660 million from the sale of the forms, while PDP realised N245 million after it sold its forms for N35 million. Meanwhile, as the deadline for the purchase of the APC forms closes, that of the PDP closed since March 21. The PDP aspirants, who obtained the forms included Agboola Ajayi, Bamidele Akingboye, Sola Ebiseeni, Adeolu Akinwunmi, Bosun Arebuwa, John Ola Mafo and Kolade Akinjo. However, two of the PDP aspirants were said to have been disqualified by the screening committee of the party. According to a top source within the party, the affected aspirants had appealed their disqualification and would be appearing before the appeal panel on Tuesday. The primaries of the APC have been slated for April 20, while those of the PDP will be held on April 25, with both parties adopting indirect primary. However, the aspirants, who had obtained forms, had since returned to the state to interface with the State Working Committee of the party in the state as well as party leaders and supporters on their quest to become the standard-bearers of their parties.
