I’ll boost capacity of Amotekun if elected Ondo Governor —Agboola

As part of plans to enhance security in the State, the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the approaching November gubernatorial election in Ondo state, Hon Agboola Ajayi, has revealed his intention to ensure the complementary security arrangements in the state to make Amotekun operate optimally as originally designed.

The former Deputy Governor who revealed that he was a major contributor to the Amotekun initiative in the state, reiterated that he still has some of the details of the outfits feasibility studies in which he will unleash as Governor to bring the security outfit to its full potentials.

Ajayi who made the submission in Akure on Tuesday while speaking with Party members who came to congratulate him on his victory at the recently held primary election said he has a robust and comprehensive template on how to secure the state.

According to him, the complementary security force floated in the name of Amotekun is just one of the ideas he has on how to address the insecurity issues in the state.

Addressing Party men, the former Reps member said “as the
Deputy Governor, I made major contributions to the formation of a complementary security outfit to compliment the effort of the Police in tackling insecurity in the State, that outfit is known today as Amotekun.”

“What you are seeing as the operational mode of Amotekun today, is just a fraction of how much the outfit can operate. I have the full template which by the grace of God, when we get into office we will apply fully.”

” For instance, there will be an addition to the Amotekun as presently constituted. We will add Forest Guard which will police our forest on 24 hours basis. The Forest Guards will ensure that our farmers operate in their farms without any kind of molestation like we are witnessing now.”

“That is just a tip of the iceberg. What I want to assure our people of basically is that our government will eradicate any form of insecurity in the state. We will ensure that life returns to normal so that people can perform optimally economically and socially because no development can be recorded in an insecure environment. Above all, we will be accountable” he added.
