Eid-el-Kabir: Imbibe The Spirit Of Sacrifice To Move The Country Forward, Olowa of Igbara-Oke Charges Nigerians
Olowa and Paramount Ruler of Igbara-Oke kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede OFR has stressed the need for Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice to move the country forward. The monarch stated this while congratulating the Muslims as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ayodeji Owolabi, the monarch said this is another opportunity for all to reflect on the virtue of faith and total obedience to the commandments of Allah as exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim (SAW), who was willing to sacrifice his only son. According to him, these acts of sacrifice and Obedience are the major lessons of the season, which should be part of our daily lifestyle.
Oba Agbede also called on Nigerians irrespective of faith to use this period to continue in prayers for the unity and stability of our country, even as we work together towards overcoming various challenges facing our nation. He said we should reflect on the various challenges confronting us as people of one great nation, and see that it requires the cooperation of everyone, if we are to make any meaningful progress and build a greater Nigeria.
As the Eid-el-Kabir celebration is coming shortly after marking of the 25th Anniversary of Democracy in our country, Oba Agbede reiterated the need for continued unity, love, and peaceful co-existence among every citizen, and prayers for the leaders in the positions of authority.
The monarch also commended the Muslim faithfuls in Ondo State for their steadfastness, support and contributions towards the development of our dear Sunshine State, and urged them to use this season to stand in the gap in prayers for the forthcoming November 16, 2024 Gubernatorial election in our State.
He also appealed for calmness among Nigerians, as well as continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in its efforts towards reviving our economy, as he is optimistic that our country will overcome many of the problems confronting it.
