FUTA VC HAILS CPS ADENIYAN OVER SUPPORT FOR CAMPUS RADIO STATION
- Varsity pledges support for Aiyedatiwa’s administration
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, has again been commended for his support for media organisations in the State.
The latest commendation is coming from the management of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) over the support given to the radio station of the varsity, FUTA 93.1FM, by the Office of the CPS.
In a letter, with reference number VC APP/312, dated 13th June, 2024, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Adenike Oladiji, thanked Prince Adeniyan for his visit to the station in March and the subsequent monthly support he has given to the radio station since April.
During his visit to the station, on the invitation of its management, Prince Adeniyan had said there was the need to encourage the training of new generation of media practitioners.
After being presented with the various challenges of the campus radio station, Prince Adeniyan promised that his office will assist the station to ease some of those challenges.
In the appreciation letter, signed on her behalf by Mr. Isaac Fafila, the Deputy Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Office, Prof. Oladiji described the monthly donation by the CPS towards the smooth operation of the radio station as “an uncommon display of public-spiritedness.”
The letter read in part: “Sir, your benevolence is certain to contribute immensely to our daily broadcast of news and programmes, as well as expand our goal to provide quality broadcasting to our teeming listeners. With this kind gesture, we are assured of your commitment to the progress of FUTA FM 93.1 and we hope that it continues for a long time to come.
“We use this opportunity to reiterate our determination to collaborate with you in promoting the efforts of the Governor, His Excellency. Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, in steadying the ship of Ondo State on the path of growth and development.”
