A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State has expressed his disagreement with the High Court’s judgment declaring the 33 LCDAs unconstitutional.
The Ondo State government created the 33 LCDAs during Akeredolu’s administration.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Adekanmbi said that the people Owo and Ose will appeal the ruling up to supreme Court if need be, citing concerns about the implications for the state development and the welfare of its citizens
He emphasized that the state government cannot overrule the decision of the State House of Assembly, which had legally created the LCDAs
“The creation of the LCDAs was a creation of law. It was done across all the local governments in the State”
Adekanmbi questioned the motives behind the court’s decision, alleging that it was a politically motivated move aimed at causing division and chaos in the state.
The former Commissioner argued that the creation of the LCDAs was a legal and constitutional exercise that followed due process, and that the court’s ruling was an attempt to undermine the legacy of former governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, development and progress of the state.
“The court’s ruling is biased and targeted specifically at Owo and Ose local governments, and that this could be a deliberate attempt to create tension and conflict between the people of Akoko and Owo”, Adekanmbi said in a statement
