Ondo Amotekun Boss hails Aiyedatiwa for boosting security agencies with operational vehicles

The Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, has commended the State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his continued support for the Corps and other security agencies to fight crimes in the state.

The elaborate ceremony took place at the car park of the Governor’s Office in Akure on Wednesday.

It would be recalled that the Governor, who is ever determined to fight crime to its barest minimum in the state, handed over 25 Hilux vehicles to various security agencies, including the Amotekun Corps.

Adeleye, who expressed gratitude to the Governor, promised that the Corps would continue to partner with other security agencies to sustain the peace within the state.

According to Akogun Adeleye, the Governor’s support is an indication that the overall security of the people of the state is very important.

“We will continue to ensure that crime is reduced across the local government areas of the state, to the extent that residents will go about their legitimate businesses unmolested and will also sleep with their two eyes closed.

“We have continued to read riot acts to criminal elements to vacate the state or be blamed, as there will not be any hiding place for them.

“The Corps will continue to justify the confidence reposed in us by the Governor and people of the state.

“Let me also use this medium to appeal to residents to always provide us with timely and useful information about suspicious activities in their areas,” he stated.

Those present at the event included the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Olamide Oladiji; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa; State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Ade Adetimehin; and members of the State Executive Council.

Others present were the Brigade Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment, Brigadier General John Lar; Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Abayomi Oladipo; NSCDC Commandant; Director of DSS; Controller of Correctional Homes; traditional rulers; religious leaders; and other dignitaries.
