Mr Femi Ajayi Alabora, the Chief Executive Officer of God Lovely Enterprise has debunked the allegation of extortion leveled against him by some groups in Ondo state, describing the allegation as a cheap blackmail.
It could be recalled that some faceless group and farmers in the Government Forest Reserves have called on Governor Aiyedatiwa to suspend Alabora, accusing him of extortion.
Speaking with Newsmen, Alabora said he has not collected a kobo from any farmer in Idanre Forest Reserve, Oluwa Forest Reserve, Onisere Forest Reserve, Akure/Ofosu Forest Reserve, Akure/Ala Forest Reserve since his company was granted the permission to oversee the reserves.
He alleged that the cheap blackmail was the handiwork of the former company managing the Forest Reserve of which activities were suspended by the former governor, Akeredolu due to non remittance of revenue to the government coffer.
Alabora added that they have not commenced operation in the Forest Reserves saying all stakeholders including farmers were invited to a meeting scheduled for next week Tuesday at Adegbemile Hall, Akure where they will brainstorm and chat the way forward.
His words: ” We only sent invitations of meeting to Farmers and all stakeholders in the Forest Reserves. Aside the letter, we also run jingles on Adaba FM, Radio Nigeria and Crest FM with intent of notifying everybody of the meeting scheduled for Tuesday at Adegbemile Hall in Akure”.
The CEO of God Lovely Enterprise challenged any one with proof of payment to the company to present the receipt to appropriate quarter to back the cry of extortion from farmers.
” We understand the game and people beating the drum of extortion, they are desperate to get the contract back but linking the governor to their unsubstantiate claims is the height of it all”.
“My company has not demanded payments ranging from ₦20,000 to ₦100,000 from each farmer nor threaten any farmers with eviction and destruction of their crop because we have not started work in the Reserves”.
He charged the farmers to maintain decorum and ensure they attend Tuesday meeting where all issues affecting the mode of operation of the forest would be discussed.
Alabora said the call for his suspension by some faceless group and individuals is unnecessary since he has not breach any contract agreement had with the government.
He further said that no campaign of calumny can prevent Mr Governor from winning the November 16 Governorship Election saying the governor excellent performance in the state will coast him to landslide victory.
Alabora added that he leads one of the largest associations in Ondo State, PROWPMAN, saying the association is working tirelessly across the 18 local governments for Governor Aiyedatiwa victory saying he is not an electoral liability for the Governor but asset to the governor victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
