PDP, APC bicker over decampees
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, at the weekend, reiterated the commitment of his administration to fostering a conducive environment for private investors in the state where businesses can operate without any hindrance.
According to him, creating a business-friendly atmosphere to enhance private investments across all sectors is essential for economic growth and the sustainable development of the state.
Aiyedatiwa stated this during an engagement with private-sector players organised by the Friends of Aiyedatiwa at the International Centre for Culture and Events in Akure.
The governor, at the event, with the theme, “The Role of the Private Sector in Governance and the Development of Ondo State,” expressed enthusiasm for increased private sector investments for the socio-economic transformation of the state.
Aiyedatiwa paid tribute to the late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu under whose leadership he said many of the initiatives were launched.
IN another development, the recent defection of the associates and loyalists of Dr Olusegun Mimiko, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has led to squabbles between the two parties in the state.
The PDP, while describing the defectors as political virus, said that the defection was a blessing in disguise for the party.
The APC, on its part, stressed that the action of the former governor’s political associates was a pointer to the performance of the ruling party in the state.
