NNPP’s Edema consoles NULGE, family over untimely death of Branch Chairman

The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the forthcoming off-cycle governorship election in Ondo State, Olugbenga Edema, has expressed condolences to the members of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the state, particularly those in Akure South Local Government, over the death of the council union’s chairman, Oluwatuyi Olasoji.

Olasoji, popularly known as SOJ, passed away on Monday after complications arising from a surgery he underwent at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owo.

According to sources, the deceased collapsed last week while trying to purchase fuel at a filling station. Following the incident, he was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention; however, the surgery proved unsuccessful, leading to his untimely demise.

In a statement signed personally by the NNPP candidate, he described Olasoji as a dedicated leader who tirelessly advocated for the welfare of local government workers.

“Olusoji Oluwatuyi’s untimely passing is not just a loss to his family and friends, but to the entire labour movement in Ondo State. He was a champion for workers’ rights, always advocating for better conditions and fair treatment for all local government employees.

“His commitment to the upliftment of his colleagues in the NULGE and his community was unparalleled. The news of his passing has left a profound void in the hearts of many.”

Edema urged the members of NULGE to find solace in the legacy left by Olasoji, stating that, “As we mourn the loss of a remarkable leader, let us also take solace in the positive impact he made on those around him. His vision for a better future for local government employees was second to none.

Edema also extended his condolences to Olasoji’s family, friends, and all those who had been touched by his kindness and leadership.
