Ondo: Tragedy, Two students crushed to death, NANS laments

Tragedy struck late  yesterday on the Akure-Ondo road, around Olokunta community in Akure,  Ondo State capital when a Toyota car collided with a bicycle crushing two students to death instantly.

The two victims were students of Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji.

Responding swiftly to the incident, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Emergency Response, Prince Oriade Wellington Adebawo, arrived at the scene within five minutes for rescue mission along other road users but to know avail as the students could not make it to the hospital.

Adebawo who commiserated with the families of the victims and condemned the reckless driving that led to the accident, warned drivers against over speeding and emphasized the importance of exercising caution on the roads.

The Special Assistant in a statement, stressed the need for drivers to be more vigilant and take necessary safety precautions to prevent such avoidable accidents.

NANS JCC ONDO STATE AXIS MOURNS THE TRAGIC LOSS OF TWO FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC ILE-OLUJI STUDENTS IN AKURE.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC) Ondo State Axis, is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of two Federal Polytechnic Ile Oluji Students in Akure due to an unfortunate accident. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and classmates of these young individuals.

This is a devastating loss for the student community of Ondo State, and we are heartbroken by the news. The sudden and unexpected loss of these students is a devastating reminder of the fragility of life. We grieve with the student community of Ile-Oluji and stand in solidarity with them during this difficult time.

We mourn the loss of two young lives that were taken far too soon. Chukwu Athanasius and Oladokun Oyindamola were not just students, but individuals with unique talents, aspirations, and dreams. They had their whole lives ahead of them, and we can only imagine the great things they would have accomplished if given the chance.

As we reflect on the lives of these young people, let us remember that every life is precious and every person has the right to live safely and peacefully.

In closing, we extend our deepest condolences to the families of Chukwu Athanasius and Oladokun Oyindamola.
