Kudos, delightful testimony at 3rd Free Medical Outreach organized by Hon. David Ajobiewe in Akoko Southwest

Akoko Southwest LG, Ondo State – September 21, 2024:

The 3rd edition of the free medical outreach program, organized by Hon. Ajobiewe David, the Special Assistant(SA) to the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, was successfully held on 21st of September, drawing significant participation from the community. The outreach was aimed at providing free medical services to the residents of Akoko Southwest LG.

The event, which commenced at 10:00 AM and ran until 6:30 PM, was marked by colorful celebrations and the presence of notable dignitaries, including traditional chiefs, community leaders, political leaders and members of the Akoko Southwest transition committee.

The Chairman of the committee Hon. Ayo Ajana was represented by his Secretary, Dr. Sakara, alongside Hon. Ajobiewe himself and the Outreach planning committee, led by Chief Dr. Pius (The Oru of Ejo Mefa) whose efforts contributed to the success of the event.

The medical outreach was spearheaded by a team of healthcare professionals who began the program with a health education session, offering essential insights into preventive healthcare practices.

The talks provided by health professionals were praised for being highly informative and valuable to the beneficiaries. Additionally, the event featured a session led by tuberculosis experts, who addressed the community about the symptoms and prevention of the disease.

Dr. Sakara, representing the transition committee, concluded the address by thanking Hon. Ajobiewe for his role in organizing the outreach on behalf of Governor Aiyedatiwa.

He also commended the governor for appointing vibrant and efficient aides in his administration and encouraged the community to support Governor Aiyedatiwa’s election in the upcoming November gubernatorial election.

According to the committee’s records, signed by Mr Femi Ayoko; the committee Chairman, a total of 335 people were registered and received medical attention. The participants were screened for various health conditions, including diabetes, malaria, tuberculosis, and high blood pressure.

Those diagnosed with positive cases were promptly treated with free medications, and many expressed their gratitude for the life changing services provided.

Among the participants, two people, Mrs. Adewale Jannet from Sabo Ibaka Oka and Mrs. Victoria Babalola from Ikese Oka Akoko, presented with acute medical conditions that required specialized care. They were referred to the General Hospital, where Hon. AJOBIEWE graciously settled their medical bills, bringing relief and joy to the patients and their families.

During an interview with journalists, Hon. AJOBIEWE expressed his delight at the impressive turnout and the positive impact of the outreach.

He noted that this year’s edition was dedicated to Governor Aiyedatiwa, highlighting the governor’s numerous achievements and projects across the state since taking office. AJOBIEWE urged the community to support and vote for Governor Aiyedatiwa in the November elections, emphasizing the governor’s commitment to the well-being of Ondo State’s citizens.

One of the beneficiaries, Pa Albert Adebisi, an elderly man from Iwonrin, described the event as a groundbreaking experience. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, “I have never experienced such in our local government. All the medications I needed for my illnesses were given to me free, and I am very happy.”

Hon. AJOBIEWE also promised the community that the outreach would continue, with plans for future editions already in motion. He reassured the community that they could expect the 4th edition soon.

The 3rd edition of the free medical outreach program was a resounding success, providing much-needed healthcare services to hundreds of residents. The event not only showcased the commitment of Hon. AJOBIEWE and Governor Aiyedatiwa to improving healthcare access in Ondo State but also fostered a sense of unity and gratitude among the community.

With plans for continued outreach, residents can look forward to even more opportunities to benefit from this valuable initiative.
