Ondo 2024 guber race: LP rejects court’s judgment recognizing Ebiseni, heads for Appeal court

PRESS RELEASE:

THE BATTLE IS NOT OVER YET, LABOUR PARTY TO APPEAL JUDGEMENT DECLARING EBISENI AS GUBER CANDIDATE IN ONDO ELECTION.

The leadership of Labour Party has described the judgement gotten by Barrister Ebiseni asking INEC to recognize him as a joke taken too far.

The party did not give approval for the case against INEC neither did it appoint any lawyer for that purpose.

The court must have been deceived that any substitution primary was conducted and Barr Ebiseni was victorious for his name to be submitted to INEC. As a matter of fact no such primary was held and Ebiseni’s name was never submitted to INEC. For the record, it should be noted that Ebiseni is not yet a member of the party as the national body, State, Local Government or his ward is yet to receive any letter from him which carries his resignation from PDP.

This matter will continue at the appeal court. The judiciary is the only hope of the common man hence matters should be properly and indepthly considered before judgement is served.

To all our esteemed members and party faithfuls in Ondo State, we understand that the recent judgement from the Federal High Court in Abuja may have caused concern among our ranks. We want to assure you that we are taking immediate action to address this development.

Our legal team is reviewing the judgement and will initiate the appeal process to ensure that justice is served. We remain committed to our principles and will not be deterred by this setback.

We urge all members to remain calm and focused on our shared goals. Your dedication and resilience have brought us this far, and we will continue to work tirelessly to advance our cause. We will remain resolute in the face of this detor and pursue our case legally to ensure Dr Ayo Olorunfemi remains the authentic candidate of the party in the November 16 governorship election.

We will keep you updated on the progress of the appeal and appreciate your unwavering support during this time.

Thank you for your loyalty and commitment to the Labour Party.
