..…Urges investments in mechanized farming
Hon. Idowu Pius Adebusuyi has applauded the Ondo state house of Assembly for it commitment through legislative policies to tackle food insecurity and to improve agriculture.
This was part of his conversation with news men while making comments on the state and the nation economy, stressing the need for more policies to strengthen the area of Agriculture, Security and Oil.
The commissioner 1 in Ondo state house of Assembly commission, while commending the collaborative efforts between the executive and legislative arm in improving the agricultural sector, called on the government to look other areas in which this move can be more effective to the people.
The former lawmaker said, to have more productive and working Agricultural sector for the people, more tractors should be provided to each of the 18 local government areas to ameliorate the inefficiency of manual and human system of agricultural practices.
The APC chieftain said “mechanized farming is the best, so there is a need for the state government to provide more tractors to the local governments, in that way we can use holistic approach to tackle food insecurity by improving on our agricultural practices to come up with a robust outcome”.
Hon. Adebusuyi, in his conversation, didn’t left out pressing issues mostly affecting agriculture, he urge the government to take proactive measures to improve our security agencies in other to be fitted to tackle insecurity threatening the lives of farmers that have chased many farmers away from their farms.
He commended the efforts of the Ondo state Amotekun outfit in partnership with other sisters security agencies for fighting insurgency and other crimes promoting elements. He further suggested that state police should be adopted in other regions to fight insecurity.
The oil Business mogul, in his comment on the nation economy, also called on the federal government to provide license to more private individuals to establish refineries to strengthen the oil economy in the country since the failure of the government owned refineries can’t still be revived.
He noted that, more refineries will bring competition within the sector which may lead to reduction of oil prices instead of leveraging on moribund that are yet to cover up an outcome, rather linking the citizens with high cost of living.
The APC chieftain in the area of their party governance, commended the leadership of the party, particularly Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the state chairman Engr. Ade Adetimehin for their key leadership role played in the party to uphold unity and peace within the party which is turning out for defections of members of other political parties to the All progressive congress ( APC).
