Ondo guber poll: League of Imams sends special message to Muslims over INEC Continuous Voters Registration

The Chairman, League of Imams and Alfas, Ondo State, Sheikh (Dr) Ahmed Aladesawe Wishes to inform all Imams most especially the Jumaat Imams in Ondo State to use friday’s khutbah as well as other sittings to direct, all eligible Muslims Voters in Ondo State whose Permanent Voters Cards have lost, defaced or mutilated as well as those that have attain the age of eighteen (18 ) years to go to their various wards in the 18 Local Governments of the State and partake in the Continuous Voters registration in order to get a new Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

This PVC will enable them to partake in future elections most especially the forth coming Governorship election in the State.

The Continuous Voters Registration by INEC will commence throughout the State on Monday, May 27th 2024. INEC officials in Ondo State will be at all wards to attend to eligible voters willing to do the registration.

Those who also want to transfer their PVCs from one Polling Unit to another are expected to use this opportunity to do so.

All the Jumaat Imams, Ratibi Imams as well as leaders of Islamic organisation are advised to stress the importance of the above in their engagement with their congregation starting from Friday 24th May 2024 during the khutbah.
Leaders of Mosques and Islamic Organisations should also facilitate how this exercise will be easy and realised by the Muslims in the state.
