An Akure born entertainer/entrepreneur, Okechukwu Ononogbu popularly known as OKEYSlGNO has described his concert as an avenue for developing young artistes to showcase their talents.
He made this known in a chat with Friday Extravaganza ahead of his concert tagged ‘Signo Music Rave’ coming up on December 22, 2022, at The Dome, Alagbaka in Akure.
OKEYSlGNO said his concert was aimed at developing home-grown talents in Ondo state and how to showcase their talents to the world at large.
He said it is also a genre of fiction that consists of discourses or works intended to be humorous or amusing by inducing laughter, especially in theatre, film, stand-up comedy, television, radio, books, or any other entertainment medium.
“Considering Nigeria’s current economic situation, I think there is need for a platform where people should converge to ease off their tensions by listening and vibing to music made by one of top rated musicians in the country and other forms of entertainment from notable artistes.
The Signo music Rave will be headlined by the famous “Seyi Vibez” also known as Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi.
” Like the popular saying goes” Work without play makes Jack a dull boy”, and that “music is medicine” “Music heals the soul” I believe everyone needs a kind of hilarious laughter and good Music to unwind especially at a programme like this and of course, it will enhance medical fitness, he said.
According to the entertainer, the concert is targeted at reviving and bringing life into the entertainment industry in Ondo State in a dynamic way, and as well, take it to a greater height.
When asked if this is his first concert, Okechukwu said ” yes, it is my first concert.”
How long have you been in the entertainment industry before coming up with your own concert?
“I have been in the entertainment industry for about two years now.
What is your advice to the government towards ensuring the growth of the entertainment industry?
“The entertainment industry needs the help of government to push our contents to the larger market and to the world. The government have the resources and the connection to take entertainment in this state to the next level . I thank God for His grace, entertainment is getting better. I also wish the government will always see reasons why they should invest in the industry which would boost the state Internally Generated Revenue”,
What is your advice to your colleagues on churning out entertainment that teaches morals?
My colleagues have been doing a great job in the entertainment industry, my advice to them is that we should continue to push entertainment and show the youths that entertainment can keep them out of trouble and also be a source of income for them.”
